Online Residence and Vernissage on Europe Day

UN/MUTE – 10002 is a collaborative online project that enabled ten European artists who had never been to NYC to engage in a virtual residency and collaboration with ten New York artists.
In a series of weekly Zoom sessions, participants from a wide range of disciplines worked in teams of two to create new works that can be followed at unmute.nyc.
Initiated last year as “10001” and continued at the beginning of the year as “10002,” this project was realized by Brooklyn-based gallery Undercurrent and was supported by the New York Cluster of National Institutes of Culture of the European Union (EUNIC).
Austrian musician and performer Barbara Maria Neu collaborated with NYC-based visual artist and performer Kris Grey as TEAM PROFILE.
To conclude the collaboration, on Europe Day (May 9) all 20 artists will present the results of this cooperation at a celebratory vernissage, which can be followed live on Undercurrent’s Facebook page.
