A cross-border music project

Austrian musician Stergin’s latest project is an artistic initiative to promote empathy and mutual listening, in an increasingly divisive society.
During the course of the pandemic, the artist conducted very personal interviews with people living in the same square mile as the musician himself. The interviews served as inspiration and the basis for the creation of three new songs.
The “One Square Mile” initiative is intended to strengthen cohesion in the immediate social environment and encourage mutual listening and exchange.
Stergin is calling on artists worldwide to participate in the initiative.
The project was also presented as part of the Ö1 initiative “Repair of the Future,” which gives innovative ideas from Austria a media platform.
